When Does Miami Swim Week Take Place?

Miami Swim Week typically takes place during mid-July, as that’s the ideal weather to pick up a glass of lemonade and get that annual tan in. This year, Miami Swim Week is scheduled to take place from July 14^th to July 21^st, 2022. If you have a plan for the summers and are desperately looking for something fun to do, then this is a lucky slot!

What is the History Behind Miami Swim Week?

Miami Swim Week is such a big event that it throws people off completely when they find out that it didn’t even start off as Miami Swim Week at all! In reality, you can trace the history of Miami Swim Week back to 2004, when the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim suddenly brought out a line of glitz swimwear and introduced swimwear shows; the idea began by New York Fashion Week’s producer company IMG. The show was such a success that it paved the way for an entirely new show altogether and soon the show was accompanied by after parties, celebrity meet-ups, designer parties, sponsorship events, and of course, your favorite swimwear brands collaborating on a major platform. After IMG stepped down, SWIMMIAMI and Swim Fashion Week stepped up to the role, and it has been running swiftly ever since.

Of course, the pandemic did halt the event for a while, but Miami Swim Week came back with a loud bang in 2021, and it’s looking hopeful for the future.

What Swimwear Trade Shows Take Place At Miami Swim Week?

While the Miami Swim Week event is known to be a healthy and interactive platform for all swimwear designers and companies, there are a few that have managed to stand out and look toward a consistent role in the future. Among these few are SwimShow, Cabana and Hammock.

SwimShow

You might actually recognize SwimShow because it has been running for around 40 years now; it actually dates back to 1982! This not only makes it the longest running swimwear trade show, but also the biggest, and that alone makes Miami Swim Week a success. Each year, SwimShow features a remarkable platform where approximately 2500 brands exhibit their ideas; it’s truly a great opportunity to get to know swimwear worldwide. It takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Hammock

A little late to the show but one that made a huge impact, Hammock (previously known as Salon Allure) became a part of Miami Swim Week in 2010 and takes place yearly at the W South Beach Hotel. At Hammock, you’ll find a broader range of swimwear, accessory, and beauty brands and all the emerging trends. Because it takes place at the W South Beach Hotel, chances are you’ll be introduced to exhibitions in massive exhibition halls and private and luxurious suite rooms. For those who like a little luxury along the way, Hammock’s exhibitions are truly a pleasure.

Cabana

Cabana is another beachwear trade show that is the product of Janet Wong and Sam Ben-Avraham from Atrium; Cabana came into Miami Swim Week in 2013 and hasn’t looked back. It has a really versatile platform and a very comfortable environment, so even if you’re an anxious shopper or an introvert, you’ll feel very relaxed.

What Other Shows Take Place?

We’ve taken you through the swimwear trade shows, but Swim Week Miami is known for more than just that. The top organizations SWIMMIAMI and Swim Fashion Week are also in the running.

SWIMMIAMI

Equally creative to its name, SWIMMIAMI is a joint venture between SBI and LDJ, two production companies originating from New York. SWIMMIAMI is a wider platform for various runway shows that take place at Miami’s One Hotel and W South Beach Hotel. Once more, the venue is extremely luxurious and comforting, so shoppers and viewers can take a refreshing view and enjoy a calming experience.

Swim Fashion Week

Similar to SWIMMIAMI, Swim Fashion Week produces designer shows that feature various swimwear designers and give a broader platform to various connected companies. The Swim Fashion Week was created by Funkshion, a production company based and originated from Miami.

What Does 2022 Have In Store At Miami Swim Week? (Calendar)

If you think Miami Swim Week is a basic trade show, you’d be slightly wrong. Every year, Miami Swim Week comes up with unique functions and events, so it’s not just repeating various events only. Art Hearts Fashion Miami Beach: July 13- July 18, 2022

Swim Thick in Miami is a short but important event that will take place on the 16^th of July 2022 12:00 to 03:00 PM.

Washington Avenue (WAVE) Fashion Show: July 19- July 20, 2022

WAVE or Washington Avenue Fashion Show previously featured athletes, celebrities, and fashionistas; this year it will take it up a notch and feature designers, models, and concepts related to Resort Wear.

Paraiso Miami Beach: July 14- July 17, 2022

Paraiso is the world’s largest  marketing and trade event which will open up new opportunities for swimwear companies and designers.

Planet Fashion: July 14- July 17, 2022

A popular name, Planet Fashion will be featuring its best designs this year.

La Plage Miami: July 15- July 18, 2022

An awesome event planner, La Plage showroom is produced by Fashion Agent and will feature open platforms.

Washington Avenue (WAVE) Fashion Show: July 16- July 17, 2022
